Born in San Francisco in 1969, photographer William (Will) Wilson (Diné) spent his formative years living in the Navajo Nation. He developed his complex, nuanced oeuvre while studying at Oberlin College and the University of New Mexico, where he earned a MFA. Wilson was awarded the Native American Fine Art Fellowship from the Eiteljorg Museum in 2007, and a prestigious grant from the Joan Mitchell Foundation in 2010. He has held visiting professorships at the Institute of American Indian Arts, Oberlin College, and the University of Arizona. Currently, Wilson manages the National Vision Project, an initiative of the Museum of Contemporary Native Arts in Santa Fe, NM.
