    Collection history unknown; formerly in the collection of Stephen Sheldon (1885-1960, a collector, storekeeper, and deputy U.S. Marshal in Haines, Alaska) and possibly collected by him; given or sold to Alex Rasmussen (ca. 1887-1945, collector and superintendent of schools in Wrangell and Sitka, Alaska) in 1932; lent by Rasmussen to the Wrangell Institute (a Native boarding School in Wrangell, Alaska) at an unknown date and presumably transferred to the Institute's possession with Rasmussen's death in 1945; sold to Susan D. Barrow (1907-1988, teacher at the Wrangell Institute) and Henry D. Barrow (1909-1987, ship captain) in 1945; sold to MAI by Mr. and Mrs. Barrow in 1948.
