travelers housed?

As the Road expanded from Cusco out into the suyus, lodgings called tampu were constructed. These were designed as temporary housing for royals, soldiers, and workers. Provisions were stored within the tampu. The structures shared a similar design throughout the empire and used local materials. Fieldstone was used in the mountains, and adobe on the coast.
