These exquisite green cloth leggings are trimmed with deerskin dyed dark brown with black walnut. They are decorated with dyed moose-hair and porcupine-quill embroidery in a fairly elaborate floral design characteristic of the Wendat. They may have been made for a special occasion, but it is equally likely that they were intended for sale and were purchased by someone who appreciated the skill required to make them.
