"Land o' Plenty is part of a series of postcard images which depict negative stereotypes of Native American women. This cartoon image of a 'squaw' and numerous 'papooses' is a play on a clichéd statement describing the 'West,' which offered to the immigrant 'plenty' of economic opportunities and 'plenty' of open land for the taking. The cliché is changed to take a dehumanizing look at the indigenous people of the land who were obstacles in the way of progress and manifest destiny."
