Probably collected between 1920 and 1930 by Anna Sheftel (Anna Savina Scheftel, 1893-1987) while she and her husband Savely Sheftel (1884-1970) were performers in an entertainment revue company called Le Chauve-Souris that toured in Europe and the US and was based for a time in South America; purchased by MAI from Mrs. Sheftel in 1965.
