Worn by members of John Osceola's family during the 1938 Seminole Green Corn Ceremony; given by John Osceola to Texas Jim Mitchell (1891-1973) and his wife Mae Gordon Mitchell (1901-1992) of Sarasota, Florida, in 1938; donated to MAI by Mr. and Mrs. Texas Jim Mitchell in 1939; removed from the MAI collection in 1967; formerly in the collection of Helen Pep Grodka (1898-1982, an artist and Native American art enthusiast); donated to MAI in 1982 by Helen Pep Grodka's daughter and son-in-law, Sonia Grodka Blumenthal and Harry W. Blumenthal (1924-2013).
