Items in this set were collected from several Mississippi Choctaw individuals (Lucy Lewis, Isam Thompson, Tom Clemmons, Hickman Thomas, Jessica Thomas, Adam Jim, Nash Bell, Mrs. Will E. Morris, Goodman Jim, Ike Jimmy, Billy Hall and Langley Joe) in 1908 by anthropologist Mark Raymond Harrington (1882-1971, MAI staff member) during fieldwork sponsored by George Heye.
