In this segment, program manager Keevin Lewis (Navajo) welcomes the audience and museum historian Dr. Gabrielle Tayac (Piscataway) introduces the speakers. Gabrielle also speaks briefly about the passing of John Trudell (Santee Sioux), who was a writer and activist within the American Indian Movement.
