Looking to the Future: The Life and Legacy of Senator Daniel K. Inouye is a symposium that celebrates Hawaii's former senator, who was Chairman and Vice Chairman of the U.S. Senate Committee on Indian Affairs, and one of the visionary founders of the National Museum of the American Indian. In this segment, Patricia Zell, Partner, Zell & Cox Law, P.C.; Trustee, National Museum of the American Indian introduces the conference as moderator. `Iokepa De Santos, a Hawaiian Cultural Specialist for Partners in Development Foundation and Mālama `Aina Foundation and is currently the president of `Ahahui `Ōlelo Hawai`i (Hawaiian Language Association), offers the opening blessing. Kevin Gover (Pawnee), director of the Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian gives the opening remarks. The symposium was recorded on May 15, 2014 in the Rasmuson Theater of the National Museum of the American Indian.
