Native American Heritage Day Celebration with Larry Yazzie 5
Description
Since 2008, the United States has recognized the Friday after Thanksgiving as Native American Heritage Day. Two-time World Fancy Dance Champion Larry Yazzie (Sac & Fox Tribe of the Mississippi in Iowa/Meskwaki) helps the museum celebrate the occasion with Native American dance and flute, and with dance-inspired "Native aerobics" in which everyone is invited to take part. Larry believes that by sharing life stories through music, dance, and storytelling, we nurture meaningful communication among all people. This is the fifth of five programs given by Larry Yazzie in the Potomac Atrium of the National Museum of the American Indian on November 27, 2015. All five presentations were webcast live and recorded.
