- Suma Qamaña celebrates the spirit of "Living Well" in this four day festival hosted by the Embassy of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, highlighting the indigenous cultures of Bolivia through dance and song. In this segment, Grupo Cultural Autoctono Tarkeada VA perform the Tarkeada. The Tarkeada owes its name to the musical instrument "tarqa". Made of wood, the tarqa is the indigenous flute of the Andes which exists in three sizes. The biggest one is the lice or tayca followed by medium size version called male or malta and the smallest called ch'ili. The Tarqueada is characteristic of month of November when people pay homage to their defunct relatives and ancestors. This is known as the "tarqa disinterment." Recorded in the Potomac Atrium of the National Museum of the American Indian on June 8, 2014.
