Living Earth Festival 2018: Native Natural Southwest Native Foods
Description
The ninth annual Living Earth Festival focuses on sustainable development through heritage tourism, traditional agricultural practices, and the importance of Native foods and food sovereignty. In this presentation, Joseph Jaramillo (Isleta Pueblo) talks about how he founded Native Natural Southwest Native Foods and the value-added products that they offer world-wide. Native Natural Southwest Native Foods is one of more than 20 tribal organizations all over the United States taking part in the American Indian Food Program. Native Natural is located within Isleta Puebo, in the Rio Grande Valley south of Albuquerque, on the most fertile soil in New Mexico. This presentation was webcast and recorded in the Potomac Atrium of the National Museum of the American Indian on July 20, 2018.
