Purchased in 1904 during a trip to Niagara Falls by Dr. Oscar Rotter (1865-1932, a New York City physician) as a gift for his niece Frances Schloeder Horstmann (1897-1977); inherited by her husband Fred Horstmann (1893-1985, of Simsbury, Connecticut); donated to MAI by Fred Horstmann in 1979.
