Probably acquired by Norman Ewing (Sioux, 1894-1968), formerly manager of the Sioux Indian Women's Arts and Crafts Club of Wagner, South Dakota, for his co-worker Robert Orr Dankworth (1880-1949) in 1935; inherited by Robert Dankworth's daughter Dorothy Dankworth Brandt (1912-1977) and subsequently by her husband Thomas A. Brandt (1909-2005); inherited by Thomas Brandt's second wife Shirley Brandt; donated to NMAI by Shirley Brandt in 2008 in memory of Thomas Brandt.
