Detwiller (1851-1898, a physician and amateur ornithologist from Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, who travelled in Colombia); purchased by MAI from Alvin H. Rice (1870-1931, an antique dealer in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania) in 1920 using funds donated by MAI trustee James B. Ford (1844-1928).
