Collected in 1918 by Theodoor de Booy (1882-1919, MAI staff member) during fieldwork sponsored the American Geographical Society and the University Museum of the University of Pennsylvania; inherited by his widow, Elizabeth Smith de Booy (1883-1941); purchased by MAI from Elizabeth de Booy in 1919 using funds donated by Thea (Mrs. George) Heye.
