Possibly collected by Mr. Camadini during the 1840 John Lloyd Stephens and Frederick Catherwood expedition to Palenque; given by Mr. Camadini to Dr. Joseph L. Jones (1833-1896, New Orleans, Louisiana) at an unknown date, but possibly at the close of the New Orleans world's fairs in 1886; purchased by George Heye from Dr. Jones's widow, Susan Polk Jones (1842-1921), in 1906.
