Formerly owned by Chief O'Soup; acquired by Edgar Dewdney (1835-1916), Indian commissioner for Canada's Northwest Territories (1879-1888), Lieutenant Governor of the Northwest Territories (1881-1888), and Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia (1892-1897), probably between 1879 and 1888; purchased by MAI from an unknown source in 1917 using funds donated by MAI trustee James B. Ford (1844-1928).
