Collected by Richard Wetherill (1858-1910), possibly in 1893; acquired by B. Talbot B. Hyde (1872-1933) and placed in the collections of the American Museum of Natural History (New York City); withdrawn from the AMNH collection by B. Talbot B. Hyde in August 1909 and lent to the University of Pennsylvania Museum (Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) in conjunction with the George Heye collection there; purchased by George Heye from B. Talbot B. Hyde in February 1916 using funds donated by Thea (Mrs. George) Heye.
