Collected between 1912 and 1914 by Major Daniel Jean Tenaille (1880-1915), a French aristocrat who emigrated from Saskatchewan, Canada, to the Dominican Republic in 1912 and became interested in local archaeology through MAI staff member Theodoor de Booy (1882-1919); donated to MAI by Major Tenaille in 1914.
