Collection history unknown; formerly in the collection of an unnamed German dentist who was expelled from Ecuador in 1963; purchased in 1963 or 1964 at an auction of his seized property by June R. Johnson (1923-2006) and her husband Sewall H.E. Johnson (1923-2003) who were living in Quito at the time; donated to NMAI by June and Sewall Johnson in 1997.
