Collection history unknown; said to have been collected by James E. Boyd (1834-1906), an Omaha, Nebraska, businessman and governor of Nebraska from 1891 to 1893); acquired by Margaret Gannett Elton (ca. 1907-1975), who may have been a distant relative of Governor Boyd’s, at an unknown date; donated to MAI by Mrs. Elton in 1971.
