Made for Lucy Blacktomahawk (Mrs. Isaac His-Horse-Appears, Yanktonnai Nakota, b. 1903) by her grandmother and given to Lucy when she was three years old; collected from Lucy Blacktomahawk circa 1920 by Margaret R. Elliott (1887-1976) while she worked as a nurse and missionary in Cannon Ball, North Dakota; purchased by MAI from Miss Elliott in 1963.
