Collection history unknown; formerly in the collection of Elena Howell Terry (1914-1998), daughter of sugar magnate Thomas A. Howell, Sr. (1877-1930) and probably acquired during the Howell family's stay in the Dominican Republic in the late 1920s; donated to MAI by Mrs. Terry in 1939.
