Collected in 1870 by Benjamin Hutchins Grosvenor (1841-1923, of Pomfret, Connecticut, who worked for the US Indian Service on the Winnebago Reservation in Nebraska between 1868 and 1870); inherited by his son, John Payson Grosvenor (1877-1959, also of Pomfret, Connecticut); donated to MAI by John Grosvenor in 1934.
