Roddy (1857-1924, an Indian artifact collector and dealer) at an unknown date; purchased by Stewart Culin (1858-1929, then director of the Free Museum of Art and Science, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania) from Tom Roddy during the John Wanamaker Expedition (1901) sponsored by John Wanamaker (1838-1922); part of the collection of the Free Museum of Science and Art until 1908 when it was acquired by George Heye through an exchange with the Free Museum.
