Collection history unknown, but said to have been brought south on a whaling ship; purchased by George Heye in 1907 from E. M. Rhodes & Co., a Seattle, Washington, Indian artifact shop owned and operated by Emma M. Rhodes (Emma Millmore Rhodes, 1868-1944).
