Collection History
Collected or excavated in 1915 by amateur archaeologist Dr. Thomas W. F. Gann (1867-1938, a physician stationed in Central America); acquired by Henry Thrush (1864-1933, a New York City real estate broker) at an unknown date; purchased by MAI from Henry Thrush in 1922 using funds donated by Archer M. Huntington (1870-1955, a long-time friend of George Heye, MAI trustee, and founder of The Hispanic Society of America in New York City).
