Scope and Contents
A colored slide which is a photographic still from the film "Hopi." View of Butterfly Girl and Sun-on-Rising, portrayed by Quoyavema (Riley Sunrise) perched on a wall afer they are married on the Hopi Reservation, Arizona. They are both wrapped in blankets and Butterfly Girl no longer wears her hear in a Butterfly coif. The blankets and garments were borrowed from several museum collections for the filming. Plate LIII in "Rhythm for Rain."
Series Restrictions
At least one photograph has been restricted for cultural sensitivity. Additional consultation with the Hopi community is needed.
