Biographical / Historical: Ina McNeil (Hunkpapa Lakota) was born on the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation in South Dakota. She is the great great granddaughter of Chief Sitting Bull, the legendary Hunkpapa Lakota warrior. Her traditional name is Scarlet Whirlwind Woman or Wamni-Umni-Luta-Wi, a name given to Ina by her great grandfather Henry Oscar One Bull.

This collection includes audio and video recordings produced by the Museum of the American Indian, Heye foundation for museum events between 1960 and 1989. This includes materials such as recordings from exhibitions, staff meetings, public programs, and interviews with former MAI directors, Frederick Dockstader and Roland Force.
