Scope and Contents
This collection contains 175 2.5x 4 in. black and white photographs taken in Indigenous communities in the U.S in the late 1800's and collected by Laura Havemeyer.
The bulk of the photographs were taken by Charles William Carter and Jackson Brothers Co in Utah and Nebraska. Additional photographers include C. Griffin, Parker and Johnson, J.H. Hamilton, Frank F. Currier, Palmquist and Jurgens Co., William Henry Jackson, Savage and Ottinger Co., and G. Mueller.
