Biographical / Historical
Robert Newton Price (1847-1889) was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He graduated from West Point in 1870 and was assigned to frontier duty at Fort Sill in Oklahoma. After his time in the military, he worked for a stationary company. He moved to Washington, D.C. to work in the Pension Office before moving to Denver to work for the city.

Scope and Contents
This collection contains 22 4x6 inch black and white photographs of Robert Newton Price's collection of objects from various Native communities. The images depict a baby carrier, a halibut fishing hook, wood carvings, pottery, and small figures. One photograph is restricted for cultural sensitivity.
