Biographical / Historical
David Sands Titus, III (1881-1949) was born in Aurelius, New York. At various times, he listed his employment as a farmer and engraver. He was also an amateur archeologist, participating in local excavations in New York. He was interested in Native American stories and collected many Native items.

This collection contains twelve silver gelatin prints taken among the Barí community in Venezuela depicting people posed together, villages, and household and hunting implements. Three photographs are restricted for cultural sensitivity.
