In the third season of Indian Summer Showcase, the National Museum of the American Indian presents the compelling sounds of Indian Country presented in the magnificent setting of the museum’s outdoor Welcome Plaza. The program includes rock, folk, blues, electronica, and traditional music from performers demonstrating the wealth and diversity of Native talent.
This summer, the music merges with messages first delivered at the memorable Mother Earth program presented on July 7, 2007, in the spirit of the Live Earth initiative. At each concert, prominent Native and scientific spokespeople will remind us that the global call to consciousness issued last year must be reinforced in our lives, and that Native people have key contributions to make to this most important conversation.
